Infant baptism

Christenings

Revd. Steve Gold and an infant baptism at St. John the Baptist Hillmorton

Christenings for Children

We would love to offer you a baptism service (also known as a Christening) for your child.

Baptisms take place in a separate service on a Sunday afternoon at 12.15pm.  We hope that this enables us to offer a very warm welcome for our baptism families and their guests – and to offer a service that is tailored to you.

As parents you do not need to be baptised; nor do you already need to be a member of the church family.  We welcome anyone from our community who would like their child baptised and who is willing to make the baptism promises.

For Young People and Adults

Baptism is for people of all ages.  It is never too late to decide that you would like to be baptised, and we would love to hear from you if you’re interested in a baptism for a young person in your family – or an adult baptism for yourself.

Alternatively, for parents who want to celebrate the birth of their child and to ask for God’s blessing, but who do not feel able to make the baptism promises, or who wish to leave the child to make the decision for themselves when older, we are pleased to offer a service of thanksgiving.

If you would like to enquire about a Baptism for your child or yourself, please contact Steve on 07711 240227, or email steve@stjohnhillmorton.org.uk
